Affectionately named “BENNIES” (in honour of Pope Benedict XVI) meets bi-weekly alternating Saturday & Sunday evenings (check Upcoming Events for dates) in the basement of the Church at 6:30 pm from September to June.

All high school students are welcome to attend. This is an opportunity for many social and sports activities in a Catholic environment of faith.

15 to 20 young people have been regularly attending. You are very welcome no matter which parish you attend. Bring your friends.

The PARABLES OF JESUS STUDY

Bring your Bible and your morning cup of coffee or tea and join us for fellowship as we read and discuss the parables of Jesus. We will take an in-depth look at Christ’s teachings through the parables He taught and discuss what meaning they have for us in our world today.

"We are hoping that many will gather with us as we participate in the prayers prepared for us by ladies in Palestine.

We will be having a planning meeting on Tuesday, January 30th at 11am in our downstairs hall. It is hoped hat two or three ladies from St. Michael's Church will attend. At this meeting we will plan readings and review the program."

TNT (20s & 30s) YOUNG ADULT GROUP

TNT (20s & 30s) Young Adult Group meets the last Friday of the month beginning with prayer and adoration in the Church, 7 pm.

PRIVATE CATHOLIC SCHOOL IN BELLEVILLE…..A few families and individuals have been meeting with
Father Whalen for the last year to discuss the possibility of establishing a private Catholic school in Belleville.

They want to pursue an alternative to the presently publicly funded Catholic schools.

If you have any interest at all in the possibility of a classically based Catholic education in a small, private school
setting, the organizers would be very happy to hear from you.

FOOD FOR GLEANERS

FOOD BANK NEEDED

Gleaners’ Foodbank Monthly Food Collection

On the third weekend of every month our parish will promote a food drive to provide for the ongoing daily demands of the Foodbank. The blue bins which you see in the tower entrance and by the Welcome Desk are for that purpose. Dry goods and canned goods are requested. If you want a more extensive list of their needs please pick up the food list by the foldout at the entrance of the church.

St. Michael’s Adult Choir ~ Rehearsals have recommenced on Thursday, evenings in the choir loft. Entrance is by the sacristy (north) door. Doors will open at 6:30 pm and you are most welcome to arrive early to reacquaint yourself with friends and greet new ones. VISITS & COMMUNION TO HOSPITALS, NURSING HOMES & THE HOMEBOUND

We are looking for faithful Catholics who have time and the gift of compassion to visit our elderly, our sick and our homebound in order to bring them the support and love of God and this community through visits, prayers and Holy Communion.

One of the most important works of God that we do all of the time is supporting the sick and suffering with our prayers. All studies show that people who pray and receive prayer from others and are supported by the Sacraments, bear their sufferings better, recover more quickly and are open to God’s healing grace.

Will you be like the friends of the paralyzed man in the Gospel who lowered their friend through the roof right in front of Jesus, insisting that he be healed? They were so determined that their friend would encounter Jesus and experience his healing grace that they were ready to go to extreme measures on his behalf. Let’s be equally insistent and supportive.
